Love

When my 6-yr old told me last night, “I love you”, I asked him what is love? Silence was the answer!

“How do you show love?” I asked. “You listen Amma!”

Such a profound answer from him!

What is love? I am pondering this question to answer if he ever would ask me back.

Love is a being a good friend. What is a good friend? Friends talk to each other, listen to each other, help each other and share.

Here is my long answer would be, when he is older enough to understand:

Love = Respect and Trust.

• Can you trust each other to be there, when one is in a dark place?
• Can you be yourself?
• Can you respect each other’s boundaries?
• Do you listen to each other?
• Can you support each other to be a better person?
